Version 2.1.0

Log spending in one tap

Most expenses are logged standing somewhere: at a till, in a queue, on the way out of a shop. The slowest part used to be getting to the right screen. This version lets you skip it.

New

  • Widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen show this month's expenses and open the scanner or a new entry in one tap. While App Lock is on, they show no amounts.
  • Scan Receipt and New Entry controls for Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button.
  • Siri and Shortcuts. Say "Log an expense in Pennywick" and it is saved, or ask Pennywick to scan a receipt. Siri needs your iPhone unlocked first, so a stranger holding it can't add entries. Quick entries are logged in your default currency; for anything else, open the app.
  • Merchant details, with Standard. Tap a shop in Insights → Top merchants to see everything you have spent there, how often you go, and your average basket.

The widgets and controls draw from a small summary kept on your iPhone. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.

Improved

  • Scanned and edited entries can now be set to repeat, not only new ones.
  • A clearer plan picker when you upgrade.

Fixed

  • Editing a savings contribution no longer turns it into an expense.
